TTG Asia Awards 2008
Jakarta, 20 May 2009 – The diversity and unsurpassed standard of facilities at Hotel Mulia Senayan, combined with an unrelenting dedication to customer service, exemplifies the reasons the hotel has been elevated to being voted one of Asia’s top hotels. Such dedication has also resulted in Hotel Mulia Senayan as an independent hotel consistently selling more rooms than any other 5-star property in Jakarta.

At the end of 2007, the hotel had done a 5-week extensive architecture and interior design revamp to its 24-hour coffee shop, The Café, transforming it into an entirely unique concept of 24-hour ethnic-gastronomic restaurant that is unlike any other concept in the region. The Café‘s intention to evoke a ‘dining room’ ambience was a huge success. It has been one of the most sought-after tables in the city from day one. The L-shaped space which was cleverly inspired by the 5 elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wood, Gold) has made The Café a finalist of “Best- Designed” cafes in HOSPITALITY DESIGN, one of US leading design magazines, in July 2008.

Around the same time in 2008, Hotel Mulia Senayan – Jakarta received another award on the TTG Travel Awards 2008, for “The Best City Hotel in Jakarta” category. Such award was evident that the hotel’s distinctive advantage of being located amidst the city’s green belt and having easy toll-road access to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, were clearly amongst the many factors by which Hotel Mulia Senayan had done it again. International business- traveling readers, who had experienced our hotel with an undoubtedly high satisfactory level, had taken the time to vote for Hotel Mulia Senayan on this awards poll. On 9 October 2008, the hotel received this prestigious award which was considered by the whole team as a clear evident of its strengthened position in the international market.

Altogether, on its 12th year of operation, Hotel Mulia Senayan has received no less than 13 Awards and Accolades from the period of 2004 – 2008. The previous ones comprise: “The Best Hotel in Indonesia” – (2008), “Indonesia’s Leading Hotel” – 14th Annual World Travel Awards (2007), “Indonesia’s Leading Business Hotel” – 14th Annual World Travel Awards (2007), “Indonesia’s Leading Suite – Presidential Suite” – 14th Annual World Travel Awards (2007), “Top 2 – Best Business Hotel in Jakarta” – Business Traveller Asia Pacific Awards (2007), “International Five Star Diamond Awards (Year 2003 – to date) – The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, “Indonesia’s Leading Business Hotel” – 13th Annual World Travel Awards (2006). “The Best Hotel in Jakarta” – Euromoney Business Travel Awards (2005), “Indonesia’s Leading Hotel” – 12th Annual World Travel Awards (2005), “Best Independent Hotel” – TTG Awards (2004). An unrelenting dedication to customer service, exemplifies the reasons the hotel has been elevated to being positioned as one of Asia’s top hotels.

After the success of The Café, at the end of 2008 the Mulia team had launched a new restaurant: ORiENT8, a Pan- Asian restaurant, which serves Asian food from various regions; such as Thai, Vietnamese, and Singaporean, as well as French from Vietnam’s food history and culture which is strongly influenced by. Each authentic culinary taste is presented to be inline with its homey and cozy yet elegant French Colonial interior style. One will feel as if dining at one’s home. The menu selection and taste are also the same as home-cooking. The dishes are served as individual portions, as degustation, to allow the guests to create their own ultimate tasting menu that is reasonably- priced as well as to foster a dynamic and an engaging atmosphere. The food is beautifully served in small platters and presented on trays, both especially designed for ORiENT8.
